On Friday, the cryptocurrency market saw a substantial drop after US President Donald Trump announced his plans to impose a 100% tariff on Chinese imports. This prompted one of the biggest leveraged liquidation events ever, with around $19 billion in crypto positions wiped out, most greatly affecting Bitcoin, Ether, and Solana.
The presidential announcement fueled a fast and furious sell-off that mirrored a broader downturn in Wall Street. This dual activity led to a significant increase in trading volume and a series of forced liquidations across global exchange platforms. The sudden uptick in activity changed the price of major tokens very quickly and was captured by market-data setups as overleveraged traders fled their positions.
Despite the immediate turbulence, certain investors and strategists characterized the decline as a corrective phase that could present advantageous buying opportunities for patient holders. They cited historical precedents of relief rallies occurring after steep sell-offs in October.
Scottie Pippen Gets Honest About Getting Asked About Michael Jordan
Scottie Pippen says he remains fatigued by persistent questions about Michael Jordan, telling EL PAÍS that inquiries about their relationship have followed him since his NBA debut and often overshadow his own legacy.

In the interview, Pippen acknowledged the long shadow cast by Jordan but insisted he has established his own place in basketball history and is tired of repeatedly revisiting the topic.
“Is ten the highest score or the lowest?” he said. “Then I’d say probably a 12. I’ve been used to it since my first day in the NBA. Everything has always revolved around Michael Jordan. But you know, I’m happy I was able to leave my own legacy and not have to talk about him all the time.”
Pippen recollected enduring perpetual comparisons to and interrogations regarding Jordan throughout his career, utilizing candid language to articulate the toll that repeatedly addressing the same inquiries exacted upon him.
Notwithstanding his forthrightness and critiques concerning Jordan’s portrayal, Pippen has, on occasion, proffered qualified commendation and acknowledged Jordan’s exceptionalism, while asserting that their current relationship remains distant.

Throughout his professional tenure, Scottie Pippen achieved six NBA Championships, earned seven NBA All-Star selections, and was recognized as one of the 75 greatest NBA players in history.
