The Golden State Warriors announced on Monday that the team has signed Seth Curry for the remainder of the 2025-26 NBA season. Before the start of the campaign, Curry was with the team during training camp. However, the team had to waive the veteran guard on Oct. 18. Last season, the younger brother of Steph Curry appeared in 68 games for the Charlotte Hornets and averaged 6.5 points on 45.6% shooting from 3.
Golden State will benefit from Curry’s effective outside shooting. Steve Kerr’s system emphasizes off-ball movement and long-range shooting. Having an additional threat from deep will give the team another option to keep the opposing teams guessing on the floor.
Curry signed his new deal and made an appearance in front of the media on Monday. The seasoned athlete claims that he was aware that Golden State would eventually contract him.

“I knew they would come eventually,” Seth said. “My agent was helping me keep my mind right and also talking to Steph and getting his pulse on the team.”

Curry also told reporters that he stayed ready and in shape while waiting for the Warriors’ call. The journeyman worked on his game while he had free time.
“Just trying to stay in the best rhythm as possible every day,” he continued. “Getting in the gym every day, getting my workouts in. Staying sharp, trying to get some live play with players whenever I can. It’s been tough mentally, but it kind of flew by.”
Curry has averaged 10.0 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 1.9 assists over his career. He has continued to play his part as a dependable shooter. He’s a lifetime 43.3% shooter from outside.
Seth Curry comments on how he can impact the Warriors

Seth Curry is ready to contribute to the Golden State Warriors. It’s not his first time playing for the franchise, since he appeared in six preseason games for the franchise in 2013, before getting waived. Since then, he’s developed into a dependable player after bouncing around multiple teams.
When asked what he can bring to the table, he kept it simple and highlighted his ability to stretch the defense with his shooting.
“I think everybody around the league knows what I bring to the table as far as my game,” Curry said.
“Being able to spread the floor, make shots, create offense, I feel like, with my movement. I’m a little underrated on the ball as far as playing ball-screens and the dribble handoff game, and creating that attention from the defense. [The Warriors] know what I bring, the league knows what I bring, so just trying to provide that as soon as possible.”
Curry could make his debut with Golden State on Tuesday against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
