Sheryl Swoopes, former WNBA player, is looking out for the Altadena community in the wake of the ongoing LA wildfires. Altadena is only one of the areas which have been destroyed as a result of the wildfires, and predominantly has a high percentage of African-Americans and other racial minorities.
As per Swoopes, many residents of the area are already being approached by greedy real-estate developers who will try to make use of peoples’ fragile minds at this point. The 53-year-old three-time WNBA MVP went on to encourage residents of Altadena to not sign anything and not make hasty decisions.
“Altadena is not for sale!! Don’t sign anything!!! People are already being approached!! Use #EYESONALTADENA for all posts concerning #ALTADENA so they are easily found” Sheryl Swoopes posted on her Instagram.
The Los Angeles wildfires are yet to be put out fully, but it is fortunate news that no new fires will be created as per recent reports. The areas of Palisades and Eaton are among the worst hit in the disaster. Another reason why the wildfires were so hard to contain was because of wins in the area. It is still not known how the wildfires were started in the first place, whether it was natural or if it was ignited on purpose.

Sheryl Swoopes Comments On Angel Reese’s Vogue Cover
Sheryl Swoopes has always been a fan of Angel Reese, and seems even more impressed with the Chicago Sky star after she made it to Vogue’s cover. Reese could be seen elegantly posing on the cover of the coveted fashion magazine, while wearing a deep red ruched dress with a thigh-high slit. Reese definitely looked fierce with her long straight hair flowing, and her hands on her hips in a power pose.

“Let’s go!!!” Sheryl Swoopes commented on Angel Reese’s picture.
In the past, Sheryl Swoopes has dropped loads of praise on Reese, with many accusing the legend of favoring Reese over Caitlin Clark. In fact, Swoopes has criticized Clark plenty of times in the last year, and has also gone on to downplay her achievements.

Swoopes made it to the WNBA after being drafted by the Houston Comets and then moved to the Seattle Storm, before lastly playing for the Tulsa Shock in the league. After ending her playing career, Swoopes went on to start her coaching career with Mercer Island High School as an assistant and then moved to Loyola in Chicago, finally ending her coaching career with Texas Tech as an assistant coach.
