The NBA app accidentally captured raw timeout audio Monday night, and the voice fans heard was pure Jimmy Butler.
After the Golden State Warriors star went down with a gruesome knee injury against the Miami Heat, he yelled at his teammate Buddy Hield, sharing the distress with his unfiltered personality.
Jimmy Butler’s Raw Reaction After Gruesome Knee Injury Against Heat
Cameras caught Butler screaming in pain. He was holding his right knee very tightly. The unfortunate injury occurred with 7:41 left in the third quarter, when Butler was trying to catch a pass in the paint. He lightly collided with Davion Mitchell but his foot landed awkwardly on the floor. He dropped the ball and hit the deck immediately.

Although the broadcast froze, the mic stayed on while the arena became silent. All one could hear was Jimmy screaming, “My knee, my knee,” while writhing on the court. Head coach Steve Kerr immediately called a timeout.
That’s when things got wild between Butler and teammate Buddy Hield, and now the audio is available to the public. It caught some of Butler and Hield’s unfiltered exchange, which eventually gave an idea of how gruesome Butler’s injury is.

“That sht looked nasty, huh?” Butler said to his teammates gathered around him. Hield responded with something inaudible. Butler fired back, “Shut ya btch a** up!”
Stephen Curry confirmed Butler’s post-injury humor during the post-game media availability, saying, “It’s kind of funny. He was still cracking jokes over there while he was on the ground in true Jimmy fashion.”
Curry added that Butler tried bargaining for free throws despite needing help to walk off. Initially, the team ruled Butler out with a right knee injury. His 21-minute session ended with 17 points, four assists, three rebounds, and two steals.
Hours after the Warriors’ win, devastating news dropped. ESPN shared that the Warriors announced Butler suffered a season-ending torn right ACL.
For the unversed, this marks his third serious right knee injury: a 2018 meniscus tear, a 2024 MCL sprain, and now this ACL tear.
Golden State was on a four-game winning streak, and Butler was averaging more than 20 points, so the news came as a huge disappointment, as his season is likely over.
