Bronny James put in an impressive performance as one of the Los Angeles Lakers’ leading figures in their recent preseason game against the Golden State Warriors. However, analyst Skip Bayless said James still had some inconsistencies that could affect his potential on the court.
Bronny James, whose poor court performances in the previous games earned him widespread criticism, scored 17 points, four assists, and three steals in the match against the Warriors. Despite the game ending in a hefty defeat for his team, the Lakers guard proved he could do better.
In his X account, Bayless particularly commended the former USC Trojan’s plays that night, hinting at the young man’s hidden skills as the games continued. However, the veteran columnist also noted a concern about a particular consistency from James’ side.
“Lakers got annihilated at GSt … but Bronny started, played 35 minutes, scored 17, showed some offensive flashes … but only 1-5 from 3 with 1 assist. My one disappointment so far: Bronny doesn’t always play hard,” Bayless posted.

Bronny James scored his only three-point shot on the Warriors game in the preseason matches. Throughout his last six games, the rookie played for 16.0 minutes, averaging 4.2 points with a 29.7% shooting percentage with 1.7 rebounds, 0.3 assists, and 0.8 blocks.
In the last five games, James never scored for two of those. At the game against the Phoenix Suns, fans booed him due to his low output despite being paired with his father on the court.

Bronny James receives message from Stephen Curry
After the Los Angeles Lakers preseason game against the Golden State Warriors, Stephen Curry from the Warriors gave Lakers rookie Bronny James advice after his intense preseason matches.
James, who made an impressive performance in the mentioned match after lousy performances in the last five games, revealed the advice Curry gave to him during the post-game interview:
“Mainly just him telling me to play my game and be myself. Also just giving some pointers on things to do in certain situations, but nothing too crazy,” James said.

Bronny James received tons of backlash due to his minuscule contribution to the Lakers, leading many to think that he is still unprepared to be on the professional court of the NBA. However, his match against the Warriors proved he could defeat formidable opponents. The Lakers will face the Minnesota Timberwolves as the games begin on October 23, where James’ preseason experiences could help him contribute to his team by providing more stats.
