Sophie Cunningham couldn’t help but show a bit of envy after Caitlin Clark met Adam Sandler during the comedian’s “You’re My Best Friend” tour stop in Indiana.
Sandler performed at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Monday, home of the Indiana Fever, and Clark was among the crowd. After the show, the Hollywood star shared several photos from his stop — one of which featured the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year herself.

“Indiana! Holy cow! Great Monday hang! Can’t wait for the next one! @gainbridgefieldhouse,” Sandler captioned his post.

The upload racked up over 112,000 likes within a few hours. Fans filled the comments with excitement, but Cunningham kept it short and funny, dropping a playful,
“NO WAY.”
It was all in good fun, and even with the teasing, Cunningham has built a solid bond with Clark — often stepping up as her on-court protector throughout the season.
“Of Course You Want to Come Back”: Sophie Cunningham Hoping to Stay with Indiana
Sophie Cunningham’s first year with the Fever was full of highs and setbacks. She instantly connected with the fan base and her teammates before injuries derailed her run, including a torn MCL that ended her season early.
During her exit interview, the sharpshooter made it clear she’d love to stay in Indiana — though she’s keeping her options open.

“When you’ve been through this type of season together, when you’re invested in each other’s lives outside of basketball, of course you want to come back,” Cunningham said.
She added,
“I’m definitely gonna be entertaining other teams, other offers, but… I’ve had a great time here, and I’d like to continue that. But I also think with the new CBA, there’s a lot on the line.”
Cunningham averaged 8.6 points per game on 43.2% shooting through 30 appearances. With the new CBA on the horizon, she’ll have decisions to make — but her chemistry with Clark and the Fever’s growing momentum might be enough to keep her in Indiana.
