The Indiana Fever are feeling it lately. And judging by Sophie Cunningham’s post on social media, the mood inside the locker room is electric.
“Vibes are high,” Cunningham wrote, flashing a bright smile in a photo taken after one of the team’s recent wins. That quick message lit up the comment section with love from her teammates.
“Helllll yeahh big soph😍😍” replied Aliyah Boston, while Natasha Howard added, “good vibes only 😍😍😍😍.” Even Kelsey Mitchell couldn’t hold back: “Sophhhhh♾️🫶🏾😍.” And of course, Sydney Colson stole the show with her trademark energy: “Stop all that damn giggling.”

Fever didn’t have the best of starts. But they’re starting to move up and one can’t help but think of the reasons why. You can say Sophie Cunningham, one of the initially quiet players, have started to make her mark one play at a time. And as those added up, the spark, and the jolt that the team needed at the beginning started to take a real significant shape.
It’s clear this team isn’t just starting to win—they’re having fun doing it. And Cunningham has quickly become part of the soul of that vibe.
“I’ve always played with energy and joy,” she once said in an interview with The Next. “I think people feel that.”

Right now, everyone around her definitely is. The Fever are buzzing, the chemistry is peaking, and with good vibes all over the place, Cunningham’s presence is impossible to ignore.
Straight from the locker room, to the social media gems that we see, the crew looks like they’re getting all together now.
Sophie Cunningham Has Quickly Become a Locker Room Leader in Indiana
Sophie Cunningham didn’t need to drop 20 points a night to make her mark on the Indiana Fever. Since joining the team, she’s brought something else: steady leadership, energy, and connection.
“She brings such a great spirit to our group,” head coach Christie Sides told the Indy Star. “She’s vocal, positive, and plays hard every single minute.”
In a team sport, each individual contribution counts. And you don’t need superstar digits. A Sophie Cunningham is more than enough from adding relevant defensive stats to putting up numbers on the board. She adds something that isn’t tallied. It’s something that only her teammates can feel and understand.

While the roster is already stacked with soon-to-be household names, Sophie Cunningham is one of the players that fills the gap and helps cohesion.
“She just fits,” Sides added. “You feel her impact, even if you’re not looking at the stat sheet.”
Just when they needed it, Sophie’s getting there.
