Sophie Cunningham, Indiana Fever forward, is a full-fledged Kansas City Chiefs fan and discussed her feelings of the season-opener against the Los Angeles Chargers in Sao Paulo. Cunningham apparently watched the thrilling game and the game between her Indiana Fever and the Chicago Sky at the same time from the suite.
The Kansas City Chiefs lost the Week 1 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers in a pathetic manner which ended in a 27-21 defeat. Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes managed a single passing touchdown and a solo score on the ground. The defeat was definitely a disappointing start to the season and fans will hope that the next matchup goes better for the team.

“You know what else is not spicy is our freaking (Kansas City) Chiefs losing in their first game. What the hell,” Indiana Fever star Sophie Cunningham said in her ‘Show Me Something’ podcast.
“Yeah, dude. I watched every second of it. I was pissed… Our team (Fever) was also playing. We were winning, we were playing (the) Chicago (Sky). We were winning by like, 20. So, I was watching that, but I also had (the football game) on my phone. I was in the suite. So, I wasn’t on the bench watching.” Cunningham went on.
While her favorite NFL team might have suffered a defeat in their season-opener, Sophie Cunningham’s own team, the Indiana Fever managed a solid win against the Chicago Sky with a final 97-77 score. Cunningham did not play in that game.
Sophie Cunningham Calls Out Angel Reese For Comments On Own Team
On another note, Sophie Cunningham discussed the recent comments that Angel Reese made about her own team. Reese found herself in some hot water after she made some comments against her own teammates. For this, Reese was suspended for the first half of the next game and there are reports that the team might soon trade her out. Cunningham called out Reese for her comments, remarking that some words need to be kept in the locker room.

“That’s not great, and I get it. When you’re losing and it’s been a frustrating season, everyone is feeling those emotions. And when I say everyone, it’s not just her.” Sophie Cunningham said about Angel Reese in her podcast episode.
Sophie Cunningham went on to empathize with Angel Reese that players will definitely be frustrated if their team does so bad. However, she also admitted that she herself is a team-first person and that her team comes before her own feelings.
