Nothing in the pipeline… yet. Sophie Cunningham has had no word on what happens next if her chapters under the Indiana Fever story.

“Next year, I don’t even know what that looks like… those conversations haven’t even been had because of the CBA, so it’s kind of delayed and what not,” she said.

The collective bargaining agreement has been one of the factors that has affected Sophie Cunningham’s chances of keeping her spot in a Caitlin Clark-led squad. The business side is taking a bit longer, but it does add to doubts and nerves.

Sophie Cunningham has built a reputation for being transparent and team-oriented, but she also knows her worth after several strong seasons in the league. And in the hopes that she could continue building her stocks up for the upcoming season.

While nothing is certain at this point, there is also no need for thoughts on movements yet. But one thing is for sure: training, getting into shape, recovery, and sharpening your mind. Those are key things that Sophie Cunningham needs for now.

The future is still waiting to be written as the contracts are yet to be signed.

Sophie Cunningham Praises Caitlin Clark’s Influence On WNBA System Discussions

We’ve seen how close the chemistry and friendship between Sophie Cunningham and Caitlin Clark have become, so it’s no surprise that she’s full of praise for her Indiana Fever teammate.

The WNBA may be growing rapidly, but even Cunningham admits there’s still work to be done to improve its structure and fairness.

“When you have a generational talent like that, she should have a lot to say (about) the system,” Sophie Cunningham said of Clark.

This is a sentiment that plenty of people, players and fans alike, understand and wish for from the WNBA. Sophie Cunningham, as part of that system, knows it best, and she knows from the heart that with Clark’s influence and Cunningham’s voice, Indiana can lean on more than just talent. They have leadership and perspective.

From the officiating to the management of contracts, to how they handled the crowds, the 2025 WNBA season, from the start to the finals, has been a case study of the complexities of running a league. There are still plenty of unanswered questions, such as how they could become truly profitable, and how players like Sophie Cunninham can continue to just keep their heads and their focus on just playing.
