Indiana Fever star Sophie Cunningham recently reacted to a claim made by one NBA star about her and her sisters getting beaten back in their eighth grade.
In a recent episode of her podcast “Show Me Something,” Sophie Cunningham talked about the claim of the Brooklyn Nets star, which she did not hesitate to agree with.

“I mean, it’s probably true,” Cunningham said. “I don’t want to be unrealistic or delusional. Like, men are just stronger, bigger, athletic. They just are a different build. So if you put them up against females, yeah, they’re gonna win. Duh.”
Meanwhile, Outkick co-founder Clay Travis took advantage of Cunningham’s “confession” to call back on a 2023 challenge he issued to the WNBA.
“Of course it’s true,” Travis said on X, in response to Cunningham. “It’s why the WNBA hasn’t responded to my $1 million challenge. They don’t even have any risk. A gambling company fronted their million. So they only stand to get a million if they win,” Travis wrote.

Travis, in 2023, challenged the Las Vegas Aces to face high school boys in a game and bet $1 million in favor of the high school boys.
Sophie Cunningham Announces Fourth “Classic”
Sophie Cunningham has expanded her off‑court footprint by launching the annual Sophie Cunningham Classic, a multi‑day high school girls’ basketball showcase that returns this winter and aims to spotlight top regional talent.

The Fever star announced the fourth annual Sophie Cunningham Classic, confirming the event will bring together a slate of competitive high‑school programs and that tickets were made available for the January dates.
“So, you guys know I do the Sophie Cunningham Classic every single year,” she said on her Instagram stories. “It’s a high school girls’ basketball tournament. There is a lot of top-ranked teams in the United States, a lot of top-ranked players who are going to be at this Classic, so I’m super, super excited for that.”
The tournament is based on Cunningham’s Missouri background and identity as a WNBA player. It is created to benefit both the local community and be a recruiting showcase where teams can compete during the weekend and have an opportunity to identify talented players.
The Classic has drawn a mix of local and out‑of‑state squads and produced tightly contested matchups through its opening sessions. One participating program, the Lady Pirates, recorded a 47‑32 victory over Fulton during the three‑day event held at Columbia College’s Southwell Complex, illustrating the competitive balance and regional reach the Classic has cultivated.
Sophie Cunningham is expected to enter free agency next year, and fans are expecting the Fever to resign her for another contract.
