Sophie Cunningham hilariously hyped Lexie Hull during the Indiana Fever’s Game 1 win over the Las Vegas Aces on Sunday. While the team is reeling from the absence of Cunningham, along with Caitlin Clark, Chloe Bibby, Aari McDonald, and Sydney Colson, Hull’s defensive brilliance and willingness to put her body on the line made the difference as the Fever drew first blood in the WNBA semifinals.
Cunningham showed her appreciation for Hull’s efforts on the court and complimented the former Stanford forward during one of the timeouts. The injured Fever guard chose to let her funny side take over as she motivated her teammate.

“Keep playing great defense, stay on the ground,” Cunningham told Hull.

Despite the brief moment of goofing around, Hull took Cunningham’s advise seriously and applied intense defensive pressure on the Aces. Even the four-time WNBA MVP A’ja Wilson, who celebrated the achievement ahead of the tip-off, got frustrated by Hull’s physicality, which disrupted the MVP and her team’s momentum.
While Hull’s inconsistency in shooting can be improved, her game-winning defensive plays, including the game-winning steal in Game 3 against the Atlanta Dream, make her a valuable asset to the squad.
“Sisters more ways then one”: Fans react to Sophie Cunningham’s light-hearted moment with Lexie Hull
Fans were quick to react on what Sophie Cunningham and Lexie Hull talked about during the timeout and have reacted to the hilarious exchange between the two.

A fan said,
“Doesn’t she get tired. She’s gassed after every game but keeps giving it 113%. I love this team man. Even when they don’t play well. They put their bodies on the line and the effort is always there on defense no matter what is going on on offense.”
Another added, “Sisters more ways then one!”
Even another fan tagged Hull as Superwoman, suggesting that no further advise is needed for Hull to excel in their game against the Aces.
