Sophie Cunningham is all in on Caitlin Clark.
The Indiana Fever guard made it clear on the latest episode of the Show Me Something podcast that she fully trusts Clark to take charge of the franchise’s future — both on and off the court.
Cunningham and co-host West Wilson discussed how star players often have the freedom to shape their team’s direction, drawing parallels between Clark and NBA icons like LeBron James.

“I think the reason behind that is because those types of athletes, they get to come into an organization, they have the green light and they can do whatever they want,” Cunningham said (Timestamp: 34:30). “Where that is very rare to be able to get drafted and control the whole system.”
When asked if Clark is already calling the shots in Indiana, Cunningham didn’t hesitate.
“Yeah, as she should. … When you have a generational talent like that, she should have a lot to say (about) the system,” she said.

Clark missed most of last season due to injuries, appearing in just 13 games, but that didn’t stop her from making an impact. Head coach Stephanie White previously praised the two-time WNBA All-Star for her leadership and energy, calling her the team’s “cheerleader” while sidelined.
Sophie Cunningham shows love to the Aces’ dynasty
In that same podcast episode, Cunningham also gave props to the Las Vegas Aces for their dominant championship run.

“The Aces ride from losing so much and then winning like 16 or 17 in a row, and then overcoming so many obstacles, and then winning sweeping Phoenix is insane,” Cunningham said (Timestamp: 18:52).
The Fever nearly spoiled the Aces’ path to the Finals, forcing a Game 5 in the semifinals before falling 107-98 in overtime. Cunningham hinted that the Fever-Aces series might’ve even drawn more eyes than the Finals themselves.
“I haven’t really researched this, so I could be completely wrong on this, but I did hear that our games were maybe I think viewed more than the finals game, like just our series,” she added.

Cunningham played 30 games in her first season with the Fever, averaging 8.6 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.2 assists. She now enters free agency after completing her one-year, $100,000 deal — but not before giving her full vote of confidence to Caitlin Clark.
