We’ve said it already, the 2025 WNBA Season is full of talented rookies. And one doesn’t have to be the Rookie of the Year to be at a good level. And it’s not just us who want to give praise where it’s due.

Sophie Cunningham is showing love to one of the youngest names making noise in the WNBA. After Makayla Timpson shared a post celebrating her rookie run with the Indiana Fever, the team account dropped a quick “Yeah rook” in the comments. Cunningham followed it up with her own note, writing simply “Rook” with an emotional emoji.

It doesn’t need much words to express how Sophie Cunningham was pleased with the turn-up of the young Rook. And perhaps for Timpson, it might be a hefty praise already. Something that confirms all of her hard work has paid off and that she’s on the right path. The shoutout also fits Cunningham’s reputation.

In a league where rookies can sometimes be overlooked, moments like these highlight the importance of mentorship. Cunningham’s support gives Timpson confidence and signals to fans that the Fever are building something bigger. It’s not every day a rookie gets put front and center, and Sophie Cunningham made sure her teammate felt it.

Sophie Cunningham Drops Confident Message Ahead Of Fever’s Game 3

Sophie Cunningham is not shying away from the spotlight as the Indiana Fever head into a crucial playoff clash. With the series tied, she sent a bold guarantee straight to fans.

“It’s Game 3, baby,” Sophie Cunningham said. “Let’s go get her done. We’ll be back here with the dub.”

The confidence is classic Sophie Cunningham—fiery, direct, and aimed at lifting her team’s energy. The Fever have leaned on that leadership all year, and Game 3 is no exception.

Guarantees like these can raise eyebrows, but they also set a tone. By putting her words out there, Cunningham is telling teammates and supporters alike that the Fever are walking into the matchup ready to win. Whether the guarantee holds up or not, it shows the kind of belief Cunningham brings to every battle.

It’s always a hot competition as teams clash in the postseason. No one can truly say what the outcome would be, and that’s what keeps people glued to the playoffs. The unpredictability, the difficulty, and the prestige make this one of the highest basketball leagues for women worldwide. That confidence may not be a guarantee, but a promise that it’s game on.
