And we are out to make a statement. Sophie Cunningham knows what went well and what could’ve been different in their WNBA 2025 run. Which is why in hindsight, she knows that they are THE team to watch out for in 2026.

“Us. Can’t make this season up! so much to be proud of. You better believe we are coming for EVERYBODY next season,” Cunningham captioned her post, leaving no doubt about her mindset.

The Fever had been marred by injuries after injuries of their key players. Caitlin Clark and Sophie Cunningham, to name a few. And while that did expose some unfortunate chinks in their armor, it also showed how adaptable the Fever were. And that despite the mounting orders of unfortunate events, the team fell short just a measly step away from the pinnacle of the WNBA this season.

And while the severely handicapped Fever showed that they could land heavy blows, it just means that their team is now ready to move forward with their important pieces. No more are the Fever that had to heavily rely on a star player or two to get the job done. Everybody had to step up and take the slack and now they are ready to give some of it back. And only some of it goes back because they can surely carry more of it now.

The WNBA landscape is changing quickly, with fresh stars raising the level of competition every season. For Sophie Cunningham, that only adds to the challenge. Her post was less about personal pride and more about making sure the league knows the Fever plan to be right in the middle of the fight.

Sophie Cunningham knows that Indiana Fever is just cooking. So let them cook.

Sophie Cunningham Blasts Cathy Engelbert Over Caitlin Clark Remarks

Sophie Cunningham did not hold back after WNBA commissioner Cathy Engelbert’s recent comments involving Caitlin Clark sparked debate. The Indiana Fever forward openly criticized Engelbert, calling her out in blunt fashion on social media.

“people only know Cathy because of C…. She’s the most delusional leader our league has seen,” Cunningham commented on @sidelinesources’ post. Her words quickly spread among fans, many of whom were already divided on Engelbert’s handling of the league’s newest star.

Cunningham then doubled down, replying to her own comment:

“AND IT SHOULDN’T EVER BE ABOUT OUR COMMISSIONER IN THE FIRST PLACE.”

The backlash came after Engelbert was accused of leaning too heavily on Clark’s popularity to promote the WNBA, a move some see as unfair to veterans and other stars. Sophie Cunningham’s remarks reflect growing frustration within parts of the league about how attention is distributed. While Caitlin Clark has undeniably lifted ratings and visibility, questions remain about balance and leadership..

If anything, Sophie Cunningham’s stance shows her willingness to challenge leadership and speak on behalf of players who feel overlooked. Whether fans agree with her or not, her voice ensures that the debate around Engelbert’s role will not quiet down anytime soon.
