Sophie Cunningham’s name was dragged into a conversation between Michael Porter Jr. and the Ball brothers on the ‘Ball in the Family podcast. Porter Jr. has previously gotten into trouble for remarks that he made on the women’s league in the past, and it looks like the Nets hooper has not learnt his lesson.
Cunningham’s name entered the convo when Lonzo Ball admitted that he could have played well against WNBA players when he was in the ninth grade, and Porter Jr. went one step further when he admitted that he did play against real W players when he was in the eighth grade. Apparently, the hooper played against WNBA players, including Cunningham, when he played with his sisters at the University of Missouri.

“I’m probably going with 8th grade because I have real experience doing this. I played my sisters. They played at the University of Missouri, and I was still a young kid. They had me playing on the scout team, and they had a few WNBA players on their team, like Sophie Cunningham and a couple others. I was in the 7th or 8th grade, going crazy. So, I have real-life experience. It’s just a difference, and I wish this would stop being a conversation because it should be common sense. I appreciate common sense. I feel sometimes that’s lost a little bit.” Michael Porter Jr. said.

Sophie Cunningham has not yet responded to Michael Porter Jr.’s statements about him playing against her yet. Of course, Porter Jr.’s comments led to plenty of reactions from fans, especially with some pointing out that there is no way that Cunningham would have been in the W league when the Nets hooper was 12 years old.
Sophie Cunningham Comments By Michael Porter Jr. Gets Massive Trolling
Though Sophie Cunningham might not have responded to Michael Porter Jr.’s comments by herself, numerous fans rose to the defense of the free agent and that of other players in the WNBA. Most fans highlighted that it is practically impossible for Cunningham to play in the league while Porter Jr. would have been in ninth grade.

“I know I’m not as smart as MPF but I’m trying to do the math on this and I’m a little confused…how was @sophaller in college when he was still in the 8th grade?” one fan said.
Meanwhile, others mocked Porter Jr. for his pattern of criticizing female basketball players frequently. Numerous others felt that the continuing debate between male ballers and female hoopers must come to an end since both are biologically different.
