Sophie Cunningham barely blinked when she learned she’d landed on a major Google list alongside Shedeur Sanders and several rising NFL names.
Google rolled out its annual Trends recap on Thursday, highlighting the most searched athletes of 2025 — and Cunningham cracked the top 10 as the only woman on the list. She even finished ahead of her Indiana Fever teammate Caitlin Clark.

Cunningham came in at No. 7, while Sanders topped the rankings. She shared a graphic of the list on her Instagram Story the day before, adding a simple caption that felt perfectly on brand: “Hi boys.”

The top 10 also included Cam Skattebo, Micah Parsons, Jaxson Dart, Shilo Sanders and Jalen Carter. The rest of the group was rounded out by names from other sports, including boxer Terence Crawford at No. 2, Mavericks rookie Cooper Flagg at No. 3, and golfer Justin Rose at No. 10.
“That’s like the Diana Taurasi of the NFL”: Sophie Cunningham reacts to Tom Brady comparison
Cunningham and West Wilson shifted the conversation to football on Friday’s episode of Show Me Something. At one point, she mentioned that 30 to 33 is generally considered “old” for a pro football player. Wilson jumped in with a reminder that Tom Brady kept going well past that, playing deep into his 40s.

Her reaction was immediate — and very Sophie: “It’s f***** insane. That’s like the Diana Taurasi of [the NFL].”
Now an unrestricted free agent after the 2025 WNBA season, Cunningham is in the middle of figuring out her next chapter with the Fever. Her profile took off earlier in the year following a heated matchup with the Connecticut Sun on June 17, when she was ejected for dragging Jacy Sheldon to the floor after what she viewed as a cheap shot at Caitlin Clark.
That moment — and her role as Clark’s on-court enforcer — helped push her deeper into the spotlight, and Google’s list shows the attention hasn’t slowed down since.
