The countdown to recovery ticks down. And Sophie Cunningham is making noise from outside the stadium. After undergoing surgery for a torn MCL in August, the Indiana Fever guard has been steadily recovering. She’s feeling like her old self again.

“Starting to feel like me again so yall better watch tf out 🤭😏,” Sophie Cunningham wrote on Instagram, alongside a mirror selfie that quickly made the rounds. The post wasn’t just a caption—it was a signal. Sophie Cunningham is ready to reclaim her space.

To keep her fans up to date, and herself in the circles, Sophie Cunningham has been using the power of social media to stay connected and to keep everyone reminded that she’s still there. And while not all is basketball-related, her constant movement is keeping feeds weary of her activity.

Before the injury, Cunningham was putting out decent numbers and metrics. She’s competitive as she is vocal in leadership. And fans are taking it in, making her a favorite among others. The setback was tough, but Cunningham’s still fighting.

She’s already eyeing a return early next year, saying on her podcast that she heals fast and expects to be back by January or February. That timeline would put her right on track for preseason workouts.

Sophie Cunningham is one of the names with good recall in the league. And they’re doing what they can to keep it that way. A comeback is inevitable.

    The WNBA better be ready.

Sophie Cunningham Opens Up About Pain Meds and Bowel Struggles During Rehab

Sophie Cunningham has never been shy about sharing the messy parts of recovery. On her podcast Show Me Something, she revealed some unexpected challenges after her knee surgery.

“I need to start taking laxatives. I have literally just been inhaling food and nothing’s come out,” Cunningham said, laughing through the discomfort (Timestamp 4:28). It’s a side of rehab most athletes don’t talk about, but Sophie Cunningham keeps it real.

She also opened up about her reaction to pain medication. “I react so weird to like pain meds. And so, I’ve had three surgeries and my meds have always been different. I was on hydros. It was not working. I could feel every little cut and incision they did on my knee,” Sophie Cunningham explained (Timestamp 1:23).

These moments show that Cunningham’s recovery navigates the unexpected. Her honesty adds
