Sophie Cunningham went down Sunday against the Connecticut Sun after Bria Hartley, making a pass under the rim, tumbled into her knee.
At first glance, it looked like Hartley just lost her balance in traffic. But Cunningham’s mom, Paula, saw it differently and let loose on social media.

“Harley is a disgruntled player having trouble everywhere she goes; she’s plain mean and plays out of control,” Paula posted on X.
The post has since been deleted, but the injury scare still lingers over Indiana. If Cunningham is sidelined for a stretch, the Fever’s depth chart takes another hit. Caitlin Clark is already out with a groin issue, Sydney Colson is done with an ACL tear, and Aari McDonald’s battling a foot injury.
Indiana has tried plugging the holes — Chloe Bibby got a rest-of-season deal, while Odyssey Sims and Kyra Lambert were both added in recent weeks. Still, another loss now, with the playoffs coming into view, could sting.
“KELSEY FREAKIN MITCHELL”: Sophie Cunningham fires up the hype after Fever win
With Sophie Cunningham watching from the bench, it was Kelsey Mitchell who carried Indiana past Connecticut in OT.
She had just four points in the first half, then completely flipped the game. Mitchell dropped 38, tying her career high, and poured in 10 of those during extra time to push the Fever to a 99–93 win.

Cunningham couldn’t hide her excitement, blasting out on X after the final buzzer:
“KELSEY FREAKIN MITCHELL,” she wrote.
For a night, Indiana shook off the injuries and leaned on their star guard — with Cunningham right there hyping it up, even if not on the floor.
