Despite being one of the NBA’s oldest teams, the Golden State Warriors continue to thrill their supporters. Even the players are excited to share the floor for the 2025-26 season. For the upcoming campaign, the Warriors will feature new teammates who will share the floor with Steph Curry. One of the new players is veteran big man Al Horford, who signed with the team as a free agent.
Horford wasn’t brought back by the Boston Celtics over the summer, which led him to sign with Golden State. Before he was brought in by the Warriors, though, the five-time All-Star considered retirement. Fortunately for the California team, the 6-foot-9 big man still wants to continue his career.
Aside from Horford, the team also brought back De’Anthony Melton. The guard was initially with the team last season, but was traded to the Brooklyn Nets after suffering a partial tear in his left ACL. Steph Curry’s brother, Seth Curry, is also part of the Warriors. He was signed by the organization after the contract negotiation with Jonathan Kuminga was finalized.

Speaking to the reporters on Wednesday, Horford expressed his enthusiasm at the opportunity to play with Curry.
“I’m excited to be on the floor with him (Steph). Not have to chase him around and try to contest him. The fact that we’re on the same side is something that’s special for me,” said Horford.

Curry and Horford have spent plenty of years playing against each other. Even though they play different positions, there are cases where the big man has to guard the league’s all-time 3-point leader.
In 2022, the two faced off in the NBA Finals. The two-time MVP led the Warriors to a championship, beating the Celtics. Curry also earned the Finals MVP award.
Steph Curry is happy with the different look for the Warriors

The Warriors have a different group this season, and Steph Curry is highly aware of it. They’re the second-oldest team in the league, but are still inspired to contend for the NBA title. The four-time champion was asked about his thoughts on the new-look team and said this:
“I think with this last little piece that needs to settle, I think I’m extremely happy with a different look.”
“We’re just trying to carry the momentum that we had from last year, understanding getting through an 82-game season is the challenge for every team, but especially a veteran team. But the way that we finished [2024-25] and the record that we had, and obviously before I got hurt during the [2025 NBA playoffs] second round, we were a relevant threat, and I think we’ve gotten better,” he added.
Although they’re old, Curry and the Warriors believe they can still contend for the championship.
