LeBron James is finally stepping onto the fairway—and none other than Steph Curry was first to welcome him, in true Curry fashion, by mimicking his now-viral golf swing.
After grinding through a long 2024-25 NBA season, James is making the most of his offseason. He recently shared a clip on social media showing him trying his hand at golf—awkward stance, rough follow-through, and all. While his form raised eyebrows, it also showed something else: he’s genuinely giving the game a shot.
As James gears up for his first appearance at the 2025 American Century Championship, Curry couldn’t resist having a little fun with it.
“Unbelievable impersonation of my guy Bron’s follow-through in the golf swing,” Curry said in a video. “But we all want to welcome LeBron James to the world of golf because the game needs you, big fella.”
Steph Curry, who’s been playing golf since he was 10, is practically a veteran in the celebrity golf world. For LeBron, it’s uncharted territory—but not surprising, as more NBA stars are picking up the sport during their downtime.

The upcoming American Century Championship is stacked with NBA names, both current and former: Austin Reaves, Alex Caruso, Zach LaVine, Kyle Lowry, Vince Carter, Grant Hill, Dell and Seth Curry, Ray Allen, Charles Barkley, and Vinny Del Negro are all set to join.
“You don’t golf, okay?”: Former NBA star not impressed with LeBron James’ golf stunt
Gilbert Arenas, never one to hold back, called out LeBron James on his X handle after seeing him swinging clubs in Ohio, sparking more talk around his rumored interest in a return to Cleveland.
“One, nobody golfs in Ohio, okay?” Arenas said. “Yeah, you only got one golf course in the top 200. Ain’t nobody going there. Two, we seen your swing. Ni**a, you don’t golf, okay? That’s not what you do. You play video games.”

He also raised eyebrows about LeBron spending the Fourth of July in Cleveland while rocking a “Welcome Home” cap, feeding speculation about a possible move despite James already shutting down the Cleveland return rumors.

Whether it’s a genuine love for golf or just some summer fun, LeBron is drawing headlines—on and off the green.
