The Golden State Warriors are set to face the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday, Oct. 21, for Opening Night. It would be great for fans to see Steph Curry play against LeBron James. However, the 6-foot-9 forward is expected to miss the start of the season due to an injury. Still, fans will get to see an intense bout between Curry and Luka Doncic.
In the previous season, fans didn’t get to see the two stars play in Opening Night. The Warriors began their campaign against the Utah Jazz, while the Lakers dealt with Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves. Given that both Curry and James are in the twilight years of their careers, NBA supporters would want to see them share the floor at the start of the season.
Heading into the new year, Curry revealed his mentality against the Lakers. The Warriors’ star wants to get a win against a division rival to set the pace for the entire season.

“It’s the same mission every year,” Steph Curry said. “Last year we accomplished it, and then the wheels fell off a little bit. You don’t really wanna fast forward too much, or panic if it doesn’t go well to begin with, but you wanna have intentionality on how you’re trying to start out on both ends of the floor.”
Stephen Curry said the Warriors want to have “intentionality” with how they start the regular season Tuesday in Los Angeles.
“Were a team that is building on the foundation we had last year. So, you want to win the first game. That’s kind of how you take it.”

“Understanding that, again, we’re a team that is building on a foundation we had last year, so we want to win the first game,” Curry said. “That’s kind of how you take it, and it’s exciting knowing we’re starting on the road against a team that, ‘Bron’s (LeBron James) not playing but, is lethal, with Luka (Dončić). Good test to start out and hopefully we can hit the ground running.”
Steph Curry wants to make fixes after a preseason loss against the Clippers

Steph Curry and the Warriors ended their preseason stint on Friday against the Los Angeles Clippers. The team suffered a 106-103 loss to the Clippers despite Curry’s 20-point outing. The most obvious mistake they need to fix is their turnovers.
Golden State had 23 turnovers as a team, with nine coming from the opening quarter. Despite the mistakes that the team made during the game, Curry sees it as a chance to learn more about their group and fix their mistakes before the season starts.
“But preseason is interesting because you’re trying stuff out, but there’s not as much game-plan preparation in the sense of, ‘What do the Clippers do?’ We have a mentality to that kind of approach, and you save a lot of that for the regular season,” the four-time champion said.
Curry and the rest of the Warriors seek to find their rhythm before they face the Lakers in Opening Night.
