Stephen Curry is expected to miss multiple games after suffering a quad contusion on Thanksgiving Eve, the Golden State Warriors said, and an ESPN insider warned the outlook is concerning.
ESPN industry insider Marc J. Spears reported that Curry is not doing on‑court work and will be re‑evaluated later in the week while continuing rehab, a development the Warriors described as “not good” for a quick return.
“It’s not good,” Spears said. “He’s going to get re-evaluated on Thursday, and he’s not doing any on-court work. Just getting rehab. Definitely not good.”
The team initially set a one‑week timeline for reassessment after MRI results showed no long‑term structural damage, but coaches stressed that a return would depend on how Curry’s body responds to treatment.
Steve Kerr Gives Unfortunate Update on Steph Curry Recovery
Warriors head coach Steve Kerr recently gave an update on the status of their star player, Steph Curry, and when fans can expect him to be back on the court.

“He’s going to stay home,” Kerr said. “You know, it was a long shot for him to play in the back-to-back, and we don’t play again until Friday, so it just makes perfect sense for him to stay home, get the rehab done here, get his work in, and hopefully, be ready for Minnesota next Friday.”
According to Kerr, there were a number of considerations that went into deciding not to send Curry back into back-to-back games immediately. He believes that it is safer to allow Curry to recuperate at home than to put himself in a position where he may be at risk of injury and would miss more games.
So far this season, Steph Curry has played in 16 games with averages of 27.9 points, 3.7 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game. He has shot 47% from the floor and 39% from downtown.
