ESPN analyst and media personality Stephen A. Smith may lose his job at the network for openly expressing critical opinions against the Democratic party. At least, that is what one podcaster believes, following Stephen A. Smith’s statement against the Democrats.
The Black and White Sports podcast recently touched on the topic of Stephen A. Smith criticizing the Democratic Party, as well as supporting Republican candidate Byron Donalds for governor of Florida.
“Now, of course, Stephen A. is not in Florida, but his parent company Walt Disney is,” the program host said. “Stephen A., he better watch his back. This man is actually due for a new contract with ESPN. Is there a possibility that Stephen A. could actually get fired for falling out of line?”
With his recent statements calling out the Democratic Party and expressing support for the policies of President-elect Donald Trump, Stephen A. Smith might be putting his future with ESPN at risk.
“Somebody better watch out for Stephen A. Smith, man, when it comes to his ESPN career because the Walt Disney Company, [which] he actually works for, is all on board with the Democrats, man.”
Stephen A. Smith Compares NBA to “Young and The Restless”
The issue of the NBA changing and not being like it was before has been an ongoing topic for quite some time now. In one of his recent videos, Stephen A. Smith reacted to NBA legend Magic Johnson’s take on the issue of the NBA decline: for the former player, the NBA now lacks “hate” amongst players, a source of drama and rivalry that fans love to immerse themselves into.
“The NBA saw in the 90s that the game wasn’t as attractive as it used to be [and] started implementing rules and regulations to take out some of that physicality,” Stephen A. Smith said about the topic. “As a result, hate dissipates too, because if somebody ain’t getting away with knocking you upside the damn head or they know doing so could get themselves ejected suspended [and] fined, it’s going to be less of that and as a result, everybody ends up singing Kumbaya to one another.”
With these things considered, Stephen A. Smith admitted that sometimes, he confused basketball games to be soap opera episodes.
“Sometimes I watch the NBA and wonder if it was the latest episode of General Hospital or Young and The Restless.”
Stephen A. Smith has recently openly criticized the Democratic Party, but has maintained his stand that he is not a Republican but rather, an independent.
