Stephen A. Smith got slammed by former NFL defensive end Marcellus Wiley for his comments in defense of Joy Taylor, as the analyst went on his way to defend the Fox Sports 1 host as she faced criticism over alleged sexual affairs with Fox executives and hosts.
In one of his podcast episodes, Wiley gave his honest take on Stephen A. Smith’s comments about people who have been criticizing Joy Taylor lately.
“Here’s the thing: when you say I need a woman to check me because I’m talking about how men act in the workplace or misogynistic viewpoints, what is a woman being there for? How does that help you?”
Wiley added that the way Stephen A. Smith—and his guest host reporter Tori Cooper—have been discussing the issue of allegations against Joy Taylor, it sounds like they have one thing as a goal.
“[The way] I see this: I see Tori [Cooper], Stephen A. [and] others subtly ask for protection,” Wiley added. “Stop asking for protection. That’s not life. You get protection when you [are] born and you’re [a] little kid and you’re being reared by your parents. Protect yourself first. Stop asking for somebody else to always be nice to you.”
“The key to all of this is when somebody is not nice to you you have the best medicine that God gave you he gave it to you in the purest form it’s only two letters: so?”

In past videos, Marcellus Wiley and analyst Jason Whitlock have expressed their opinions against Joy Talyor and her alleged affairs at FS1.

“Has it been about Charlie Dixon? Not that much,” Stephen A. said in one of his videos. “Has it been about Skip Bayless? Not that much at all. Has it been about Fox Sports overall? Really, not that much at all,” said Smith. “It’s all significantly pale in comparison to the level of vitriol, venom, insults, and beyond aimed at one, Miss Joy Taylor.”

The analyst admitted he was “pissed off” about the situation.
Stephen A. Smith then referenced someone he refuses to name and added: “They’ll look at any woman sitting in a host chair, or any woman that’s a reporter out there or any woman that has to walk into a locker room, and all of a sudden, their credibility is being questioned.”
