Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry has set various records in the NBA. Curry is in his 17th season in the league, and he isn’t done setting and breaking records. The star guard is closing in on a historic milestone in the scoring department.
Curry is close to entering the top 20 in the league’s all-time scoring list. So far in his career, he has 26,134 points at the No. 24 spot. The two-time MVP has scored 748 points so far in the year. If he stays consistent and healthy, he could surpass John Havlicek, Paul Pierce, Tim Duncan and George Gervin.
The Warriors guard needs 462 points to be among the top 20 scorers in league history. Curry took time to reflect on his upcoming career accomplishment.
“There are really no words for it, to be honest,” Steph said. “I’ll use ‘surreal,’ because these moments are surreal to me. The names that you’re passing now are icons—guys I looked up to, guys who defined basketball for me.”

“I’m blessed, this game has given a lot to me.”
As long as Stephen Curry keeps up his excellent scoring for the next two seasons, he could achieve another scoring achievement. The Warriors star is close to reaching the 30,000-point threshold.
Stephen Curry was “validated” by Kobe Bryant in his rookie year

It’s not easy for rookies to transition from playing in college to turning professional. There are some, however, who are gifted and talented enough that they get the respect they deserve from superstars. That’s what happened with Stephen Curry in his first year in the league.
Curry revealed a story of him getting the validation that young players yearn for in the league from former Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant.
“There was that moment in my rookie year when we were playing the Lakers, and I hit a shot off the glass,” the four-time champion said. “They zoomed in on Kobe and he said a word I can’t repeat… That’s pretty cool validation right there for a rookie.”
Years later, Bryant had a symbolic gesture toward Curry in his final preseason game. The Warriors star knocked down a 3-pointer over the five-time champion and he was acknowledged by the Lakers great.
