Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors suffered a 141-127 overtime loss to the Toronto Raptors on Sunday. Despite Curry’s 39-point game, it wasn’t enough for the Warriors to take over the game. Even star forward Draymond Green had 21 points on 4-for-8 shooting from deep.
At the end of the game, the four-time champion credited Scottie Barnes for leading the Raptors. Being the first player to score 23 points, grab 25 rebounds, and dish out 10 assists, Barnes had a historic performance for the team. He added three steals and a block.
Following the contest, Curry spoke highly about how the 24-year-old forward dominated the boards, which ultimately led to a strong Raptors win.
“He was just relentless on the boards and we have to match that physicality,” Curry said.

The Warriors star criticized the team’s lack of urgency to rebound the basketball. Stephen Curry also mentioned their turnover issue, which affected their performance.
“It was tough,” Curry said. “Thought we did enough to win, gave ourselves a cushion… Just couldn’t get a rebound and too many turnovers.”
In overtime, the Raptors had nine turnovers, six of which came from Barnes. Golden State also had 20 turnovers, which was too many compared to Toronto’s 14. With their loss, the Warriors fall to 16-16.
Stephen Curry wants the Warriors to do a better job at protecting the ball

Turnovers have been one of the biggest issues for Stephen Curry and the Warriors. They are 28th in the NBA, with 16.2 per game. Throughout the campaign, the team hasn’t done a great job of protecting the basketball. It has affected their performance.
After their game against the Raptors, Curry demands that the team do a better job at turning the ball over. He pointed out that the Warriors do not have the luxury to allow such errors on the floor.
“We’re not a team that has a huge margin every night to play around, give teams extra possessions. That’s always going to come back to haunt us,” Curry said.
