Stephen Curry continues making waves as the NBA’s biggest sneaker free agent.

The Chef showed up to Chase Center on January 11 rocking Caitlin Clark’s most popular player-exclusive colorway. Since then, he has been going viral and getting fans’ love for supporting the WNBA’s current most decorated player.

Curry sported Clark’s Nike Kobe 6 PE in “Light Armory Blue” against the Atlanta Hawks’ 111-124 victory. It was an upset night for Warriors fans, but it marked Curry’s new chapter in his sneaker tour since splitting from Under Armour in November.

Sharing the  close-up images of the kicks, the official Niceknicks’ Instagram account posted, “Stephen Curry continues his sneaker trend of wearing Kobes and showing love to the W 🔥Tonight, Curry is wearing Caitlin Clark’s Nike Kobe 6 PE against the Hawks 🥶.”

Those white and light blue colorways popped during Curry’s pregame warmups. For the unversed, Clark used to wear this exact PE throughout most of her WNBA rookie season. Nike officially released the pair to the public on November 12 for $200 and became one of the hottest drops of the year.

According to Sports Illustrated’s Pat Benson, the Kobe 6 Protro is the most-worn shoe in the NBA. Players like Devin Booker and P.J. Tucker wear it regularly, and the updated version of Kobe Bryant’s sixth signature model remains popular.

Curry has been having fun experimenting with different kicks since becoming a free agent. He’s rocked everything from the “Flu Game” 12s to Reebok Shaqnosis. He’s also worn PEs tied to A’ja Wilson and Sabrina Ionescu.

The timing has helped Clark’s PE reach a wider audience. She signed an eight-year, $28 million deal with Nike in 2024 and acknowledged Curry’s nod by sharing it on her Instagram story, thanking “the Chef” for the love.

This brings us to the burning question: what will hoops heads say about Curry’s latest kicks? NBA fans literally went wild over Curry’s shoe choice in heartwarming fashion.

One fan wrote, “Best shoe collection ever 😍😍😍😍😍😍didn’t expect this from the chef…..insane shoe rotation i gotta step my game up.”

Another added, “That Nike announcement gon hit like crack.”

A third claimed, “Those are 🔥.”

The fourth shared, “GOAT ON A MISSION 🥶.”

A fifth noted, “No one cares lmao pay us what you owe us.”

Sneaker brands are watching Curry’s every move since he became a free agent in mid-November. There are many speculations regarding his possible landing spot, but Nike seems like the obvious destination.

Averaging 28.7 points, 4.7 assists, and 3.8 rebounds, Curry, at 37, shows no signs of slowing down. Alongside that, he keeps his sneaker game just as hot as his shooting stroke.

The Warriors sit at 21-19 and hold the eighth seed in the West. It will be interesting to see what pairs he wears in the Warriors’ next game against the Portland Blazers.
