“Let’s Make America Great Again”: Steve Kerr Using Donald Trump’s Campaign Slogan To Boost Warriors Ahead Of Celtics Matchup

Coach Steve Kerr recently used some inspiration from Donald Trump in his pre-match speech to his team, the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday night. Kerr, when asked by reporters about the US elections later, revealed that he had pumped up his team by using Trump’s famous campaign slogan, “Let’s Make America Great Again”.

“I just told them, ‘Let’s make America great again and beat the Celtics,’” Kerr said (per Zack Cox).

The Golden State Warriors went on to win against the Bostin Celtics with a final score of 118-112, after Stephen Curry put up 27 points, grabbing seven rebounds and assisting nine times. Buddy Hield also contributed highly to the score with 16 points, with six boards. Andrew Wiggins also put up 16 points in that game.

Kerr’s actions seemed to be in contrast to his endorsement of Kamala Harris in this year’s US elections. Not only Steve Kerr, but fellow Golden State Warrior, Stephen Curry also openly supported Harris in the election. Kerr was quite confident of a win for Harris, but seemed to come to terms with Trump’s victory as seen in his pep-talk on Wednesday.

“After the results are tallied [on Election Night], we can — in the words of the great Steph Curry — we can tell Donald Trump, ‘Night, night.’, Steven Kerr said at the Democratic Convention

Steve Kerr Responds Sarcastically To Trumps’ Second Victory

On another note, Steve Kerr recently came in the news for giving out a seemingly sarcastic response to Trump’s win. Kerr has openly voiced his support for Kamala Harris in this US election, and has been quite vocal about this throughout the campaigns. Kerr has also criticized Trump and his policies numerous times in public.

“I believe in democracy and the American people have spoken and voted for Trump,” Kerr told reporters, according to NESN. “I want him to do well the next four years. I want our country to do well. I’m just thankful that there wasn’t any voting fraud this time. Last time, I mean, all those illegal immigrants who crashed the border, raped and murdered people and then voted six times, that was unfortunate. But thankfully this time everything was clean. So, it’s great that every election has been really valid except for that last one four years ago. Twinkle in my eye as I say that in case you couldn’t see it.”

Apart from Trump’s perspectives on gun control, Steve Kerr has spoken against other issues such as illegal immigration. Also, the Golden State Warriors coach mentioned that there seemed to be very less fraudulence in voting this election, showcasing that as a plus point. Kerr went on to say that he ‘hopes’ that Trump will deliver what’s best for the United States of America.
