Many say that the Golden State Warriors’s season is over following the season-ending injury their second best player Jimmy Butler suffered. The next move for them, according to some fans and critics, is to let Stephen Curry go and make sure they have some assets for the future.

Curry is still playing at a high level and he could rake in quality young players in the draft or via trade. There is not disputing that fact. However, for Kerr, Curry’s value is more than that.
This is why he does not see trading Curry as an option. He also does not think two-time MVP is the type of guy who will abandon a dire situation.
“Think of the life Steph has in the Bay Area. Think of what he has meant to the Warriors and vice versa. I can’t imagine he’s there and thinking, ‘I gotta get outta here, Jimmy got hurt.’ I haven’t talked to him about it, but I would be shocked if that were on his mind,” Kerr said during an appearance at the 95.7 The Game’s Willard and Dibs show.

“I think everybody loves it here. We love this organization, we love working together, and the plan is we move forward and we keep pushing, competing and see what we can do.”
Stephen Curry still has good supporting cast
Kerr acknowledged how huge of an absence Butler can be. He is their second best player in the squad and provides the best defense against the best player of the opponents.
The coach is not totally dejected as he believes they can still put up a fight and Curry is still surrounded with capable players.
“I think we have enough to compete. I think Al and Melt have given us a different dynamic, I think a lot of our young players — Quinten (Post), Will Richard — those guys are ready to contribute, they have contributed,” Kerr said the other day.

“We’ve got depth so we can keep this thing going. Obviously, we will miss Jimmy. He’s one of the best players in the league, you can’t minimize that, trivialize it, but you play with who you have and I like who we have.”
Warriors won the game (against Miami Heat) but they were dominated in the second one by the Toronto Raptors. They are currently eighth in the Western Conference
