Devin Booker is only 29 years old, but to his All-Star teammates, there is a wide age gap.
The emerging young hoopers of the NBA came out triumphant in the recently concluded All-Star Game when Team All-Stars beat Team Stripes, led by the “old heads.” The team, which has an average age of 24 to 25, torched its opponents, headed by LeBron James, Kawhi Leonard, and Kevin Durant, to take home the trophy.

The heat carried over to the locker room, and their “elder,” D-Book, received some of it as the younger players roasted him.
“Is that Devin Booker? On the young squad? He might bump it up a couple of years,” Chet Holmgren of the Oklahoma City Thunder said when he saw D-Book coming in.
“What’s up old man?” a laughing Tyrese Maxey of the Philadelphia 76ers went on.

Devin Booker let the young ones take over
Booker scored a total of 12 points in the three games he played in the ASG. He had five points in their win over Team Stripes.
He probably just let the young ones take over. Next year, it might be different, and he might have a Kawhi Leonard-type moment. The Los Angeles Clippers put on a show for fans in his team’s arena by exploding for 31 points in just 12 minutes.
The Suns are set to host the 2027 All-Star Game, the fourth time the franchise will do so. Booker said he is looking forward to it, and one contest he is especially targeting is the Three-Point Contest.

“This one [2026 edition] hurt a little bit,” Booker said when asked about next year’s All-Star weekend. “I wanted this one bad. I wish I were defending it in Phoenix, but it’ll probably be the last time I do it next year if I get the invite, so I’m looking forward to it.”
Damian Lillard won the 2026 Three-Point Contest. Booker was one of the three finalists alongside Kon Knueppel of the Charlotte Hornets.
