Sunday’s matchup between the Phoenix Suns and the Los Angeles Lakers came down to the wire. Star LeBron James had an intense battle against forward Dillon Brooks. In the end, the Lakers won 116-114. However, the officiating of the game caused problems for both teams.
Former Suns player Eddie Johnson hasn’t moved on. He took to X (formerly Twitter) his thoughts on how the game was played. Specifically, he accused the referees of favoring James during his heated moment against Brooks.
“Official Tyler Ford, who is known to intercede on calls that is not his, allowed Lebron to have contact with another official and did nothing, and then stood there and watched Lebron foul Brooks on a 3 and swallowed his whistle is a joke. Dont let me get started on last foul!” Johnson posted.

In the third quarter, Brooks had James defending him. The Suns forward shot a fadeaway over the Lakers star but was fouled by Luka Doncic. The former Memphis Grizzlies forward swung his arms, hitting the ball, which landed on the four-time champion’s shoulder.
LeBron James didn’t appreciate it and complained to the referees. One official tried to hold James back, and the Lakers star grabbed the referee’s arms during his fit.
Johnson also complained about how James wasn’t called for the foul when Brooks shot a 3-pointer late in the game. In the end, it was the Suns forward who was called for a technical foul after he confronted the Lakers star after his contest wasn’t called.
LeBron James knew that Grayson Allen would use his signature step-through move

With the game on the line, Suns’ Grayson Allen tried to win the game with his signature step-through move. However, LeBron James revealed that he knew the former Duke guard would use that move.
“I was just watching a highlight of him the other day when they played Minnesota and he had the same step-through move and for some odd reason that clicked into my head,” James said.
James bothered the shot with his contest, which secured the Lakers’ win. The next time the two teams will face each other will be on Dec. 23.
