Taylor Swift had the internet buzzing after announcing her engagement to Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce. The news sent shockwaves across sports and entertainment, and even Houston Rockets guard Reed Sheppard’s girlfriend, Brailey Dizney, admitted she was stunned.
Swift and Kelce dropped the announcement with a joint Instagram post that read, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married,” paired perfectly with Swift’s track “So High School.”
Reports say the proposal actually happened a few days earlier, but that didn’t stop Dizney from doing a double-take. “Are we being pranked?,” she wrote on her Instagram Story.
Kelce and Swift’s relationship goes back to 2023, when the Chiefs tight end made his crush known and even showed up to her Eras Tour. Their romance quickly took off, with Taylor Swift appearing at games and later sitting down with Kelce on his “New Heights” podcast, where she teased her upcoming album The Life of a Show Girl.
For Dizney, the moment hit close to home. She’s been with Sheppard since their high school days, a love story straight out of Swift’s “So High School,” and she’s been there through his rise to the NBA.

Meanwhile, the Charlotte Hornets, fresh off their Summer League title, joined the fun with a cheeky post: “summer of the rings, am i right @taylorswift13 @tkelce?”
