After making sure Team USA won against a surprising South Sudan squad, Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James once again impressed everyone by leading the way towards Germany’s defeat in an exhibition game. Turns out, head coach Gordon Herbert was correct in pointing out that the King was the real reason they lost, particularly during the fourth quarter.
Team USA, led by James, secured another victory against the reigning World Champions, Germany, in an exhibition game. The game was a rematch of their thrilling encounter at the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup, where Germany had pulled off a surprise upset against the star-studded American squad.

In the London matchup, James once again proved to be the driving force behind the team’s success. He contributed 20 points, six rebounds, and four assists, delivering crucial shots down the stretch to secure the 92-88 victory for the Americans.
The game was a display of the growth and resilience of the USA team, as they learned from their previous mistakes and approached the game with a better strategy. The team’s defensive prowess, led by the likes of Joel Embiid, Bam Adebayo, and Anthony Davis, was on full display, with the Americans recording an impressive seven blocks.
Despite the German team’s valiant effort, led by the sharp-shooting Andreas Obst, the United States ultimately prevailed, showcasing their championship pedigree and determination to defend their Olympic title in Paris 2024.
German Team Head Coach Gordon Herbert Reveals Team USA’s LeBron is the Reason They Lost

Similar to how the King played against South Sudan, James was in his element again during the final quarter of Team USA’s match against Germany. In a video shared by ClutchPoints on X, German coach Herbert pointed out that the Lakers star was the reason they lost.
German coach Gordon Herbert summarized Team USA’s 4th quarter pretty well 🤣

Even at 39 years old, James is still playing at a high level for the United States. While there are a lot of capable closers and offensive options in Team USA, such as Golden State Warriors’ Stephen Curry or Minnesota Timberwolves’ Anthony Edwards, the four-time NBA champion still went ahead and dominated the close minutes of the game.

With the exhibition matches done, Team USA can now focus on the Olympics and bringing home the gold once again. If James continues to play like this, it’s almost a conclusion that he’ll lead the American squad to glory again this year.
