LeBron James has spent 23 years in the league, with countless highlight dunks and a bubble championship. Yet he picked none of those as his “Welcome to LA” moment.

When his son Bronny James asked about his first real Lakers memory, the 41-year-old immediately pointed to something unusual: Media Day.

Bronny wanted to know what stuck with his pops when he first joined the purple and gold. And just like Bronny, fans also got a surprise because the super cool moment belongs to outside hardwood.
Without any second thought, King James said, “I guess Media Day. You know, coming in here and seeing all the banners, seeing all the trophies, seeing the names and stuff on the walls…”
He continued, “That was super cool, you know, to just be part of an organization. Something that you’ve seen for so many years, and obviously you know the history and the legacy of it. So, I would say, “Media Day.”
LeBron signed his four-year deal with the Lakers in July 2018 after four seasons back with the Cleveland Cavaliers. His special Media Day came weeks later, but walking into that facility gave him a special feeling that he surprisingly didn’t get while doing thunderous dunks on the court.
Interestingly, LeBron grew up as a Bulls fan but developed a deep respect for Lakers history. Legends like Magic Johnson and Kobe Bryant influenced his decision to join the team. LeBron explained that playing for championships is “what the Lakers’ history is all about.”
The conversation between father and son went viral for reasons beyond nostalgia in the middle of the active criticism around Bronny after his sleep moment in the Detroit Pistons game. Anyways, fans couldn’t get over how similar their voices sounded during the entire conversation.
Fans Marvel at Father-Son Voice Similarity in Viral Conversation
Social media erupted after hearing their voice, as many believe that after closing their eyes, it will be difficult for them to recognize who is talking between the father and son.
“These dudes got the same voice,” one fan wrote.
Another asked, “Close your eyes and ask who is talking…”

A third noted, “Close my eyes and it sound like the bron talking to himself.”
The fourth remarked, “If I close my eyes I cant tell whose talking.”
Another followed the same feeling, penning, “If you close your eyes, you’ll hear Bron talking to himself.”
Media Day, however, ended up being LeBron’s “super cool” moment, even over championship parades. Last season, he and Bronny made history as the first father-son duo to play together in the NBA. Surprisingly, LeBron didn’t even mention that milestone as his super cool moment.
