Shaquille O’Neal thought he got the perfect disguise with a black hoodie and dark sunglasses in downtown Toronto at night. So, he tried to hide his identification from local people but failed miserably within just 20 seconds.

In 2024, the NBA legend shared a video online. He was in Toronto for the 40th Keyspire Investors’ Summit and performing at Rebel Entertainment Complex as DJ Diesel. Between business engagements, he decided to test Toronto’s reaction to seeing a 7’1″ icon walking the streets.

He looked at the camera and said, “Let’s see who notices me.” After sharing his wild plan, he took the side of the main road. Around 16 seconds had passed in that process before he started taking steps on the sidewalk.

About four seconds later, near a popular restaurant in Toronto’s Fort York neighborhood, a Black man in a white winter jacket casually greeted him, saying, “What’s up, Shaq?”

O’Neal’s hide-and-seek mission came to rest in peace right at that moment. The woman with the fan who recognized him immediately asked for a photo with the Hall of Famer.

When O’Neal asked the pair, “How did you know it was me,” their response was brutally honest: “C’mon, dawg”. Shaq looked absolutely perplexed, unable to understand how his cover got blown so quickly.

“I didn’t have my disguise right,” Shaq said jokingly as he walked away. The Big Diesel couldn’t hide his disappointment for long.

Just to recap, he had previously tried the same stunt in London during an EDM show. There, O’Neal sported big shades and said, “Hope nobody recognizes me.” However, he was recognized in approximately 45 seconds.

Fans Roast Shaquille O’Neal’s Pathetic Disguise Attempt After Instant Bust

Fans on social media exploded with hilarious reactions, roasting O’Neal’s awkward antics because many believe everyone will recognize him because of his unbelievable height.

“Guys like 12 feet tall of course people will recognize him immediately,” one fan wrote.

Another added, “Its the casual ‘watup shaq’ that makes this funny as hell.”

A third claimed, “7’1″ and hiding is insane.”

The fourth shared, “He’s 7 foot tall with a camera following him. Not exactly inconspicuous.”

A fifth remarked, “Man 17 ft tall come on bro there is no incognito for you.”

The jokes kept coming as fans couldn’t believe that what on earth was running through his brain that Shaq thought a hoodie and sunglasses would work.

He later captioned his TikTok post, penning, “Don’t understand how they noticed me… 🤣 #toronto #torontolife”.

O’Neal proved what everyone already knew. When you’re one of the most recognizable athletes on the planet, no disguise helps — especially at night with cameras everywhere.
