Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the Oklahoma City Thunder handed the Boston Celtics a beatdown with a 105-92 win on Sunday. Gilgeous-Alexander had a huge double-double of 33 points and 11 rebounds to lead OKC to victory.

One thing that stood out in their game was how they defended the Celtics. In the second half of the game, OKC held Boston to just 27 points, one point shy from tying the fewest points in a half by a team record, which belongs to the Charlotte Hornets.

After the game, he reposted his tweet on Friday when SGA led the team to a 117-107 win over the New York Knicks.

“SGA is the best offensive perimeter player in the NBA. My God!!!” Perk posted.

He then discussed the two-time All-Star’s performance against the reigning champions. He complimented SGA for not backing down against Boston.

“SGA didn’t lie. He said he wanted some smoke with the defending Champs. He delivered in great fashion and do what SUPERSTARS do and that’s lead, protected his house and was the best player on the floor today. Best win of the season for the Thunder,” the former Celtics center posted on X (formerly Twitter).

Gilgeous-Alexander has had multiple high-scoring games in the 2024-25 NBA season. So far, he hasn’t missed a game this season, averaging 31.2 points, 5.4 rebounds and 6.1 assists on 35.6% shooting from deep.

The Thunder looks to extend their 15-game win streak against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday, who are on a nine-game win streak.

NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal overlooks Shai Gilgeous-Alexander as his favorite Thunder player

For the Thunder, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is the main star of the team. However, other players contribute significantly to their success and NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal is aware of that. In a recent episode of “Inside the NBA,” the four-time champion mentioned OKC’s Jalen Williams as his favorite player of the team.

“My favourite player on that team is not Shai [Gilgeous-Alexander] even though he’s the best player, I like J-Dub [Jalen Williams] because as you know I’m big on others and it takes others to help you win championships,” O’Neal said. “If this kid keeps playing the way he’s playing and keeps shooting the ball well when they get to the postseason I like them to win a championship.”

Williams is playing well for the Thunder this season, averaging at least 20 points for the first time. In 34 games of action, the forward is averaging 20.9 points, 5.8 rebounds and 5.1 assists.
