Anthony Edwards is the Minnesota Timberwolves’ best player and so, during close games, he should the ball in his hands. Victor Wembanyama is one of the best defenders in the league and the Spurs’ best player. It is only correct that he should guard the other team’s best player during last possession.

That’s what happened on Sunday when the Wolves hosted the Spurs and Edwards came out on top in this final battle between two bosses. Ant-man had an easy shot to get the 104-103 win. However, he had to go through hell to get to the most perfect spot.

That’s how the Minnesota franchise player described the moment he was guarded by The Alien.
“I was lost. Did you see me? I was like, damn, do I take a shot, do I drive him? I was confused,” he told reporters after the game.
“I was lost, I didn’t know what to do right now. Him so tall, bruh. Like, he can take away everything. He can take away the layup, jumpshot, he got good feet, he can move. So, he is one of a kind.”

Edwards finished with 23 points while Wemby had a game high 29 points. Julius Randle and Donte Divincenzo were solid support for Edwards as they finished with 15 and 19 points, respectively.
Anthony Edwards on his slow start
Edwards actually struggled at the earlier parts of the game. He finished 10 out of 21 from the field and 1 out of 5 from the 3-point line.
Like a true leader that he is and the killer mentality that he has, he said he is not worried about how he starts. He is about the way he performs end game.
He also made it known that he wants the offense to ran through him during crunch time. Just like how it happened versus Spurs.

“I didn’t really have it going tonight if I’m being honest,” Edwards said.
“Like I told them, ‘I don’t care what happens in the first three quarters. Fourth quarter, three minutes, four minutes left, let me see it. Y’all can have 50 points. But in the fourth quarter, four minutes left, for the rest of the game, let me get it.'”
