Kevin Durant smashed a water bottle to the ground during Houston’s 111-105 loss to Portland on Friday night.

The 37-year-old’s frustration reached an absolute breaking point as cameras caught him furiously slamming the bottle before getting up and walking away from the bench.
Cameras Capture Kevin Durant Fuming on Rockets Bench Amid Slump
The loss marked Rocket’s second straight defeat to the Trail Blazers and their third loss in four games. The Rockets dropped to 22-13 after losing a 13-point lead when Durant sat for only two minutes.
The camera caught him depressed, slamming a water bottle during a timeout in the final minutes of the game. He couldn’t hold his anger after watching helpless teammates without him on the floor.
Jabari Smith Jr. missed a three-pointer that hit the backboard. Amen Thompson failed to slow the game down with a two-point lead. Both blunders occurred while Durant was sitting and watching.

The Rockets went from controlling the game to losing in minutes, and KD felt it harder than anyone because he chose to trade from Phoenix Suns for a team that can win a title. But he got this terrible offense, who are nothing without him.
Durant, however, finished the game with 30 points and 12 rebounds. He added four assists and two blocks while passing Wilt Chamberlain for seventh place on the NBA’s all-time scoring list. As Houston got humiliated, none of this record ultimately got the limelight.
NBA Fans Unload on Kevin Durant After Viral Bench Moment
Social media erupted once the clip came on their feeds. Folks, however, had strong opinions about Durant’s leadership, the Rockets’ roster construction, and whether his frustration was justified.
One fan wrote, “Bro tryna force some type of leadership, sit down n— It’s not in you lmao.”
Another added, “That’s what he get for being scared of the cold.”
A third claimed, “Selfish prick. Someone’s gotta kneel and clean up the mess.”
The fourth shared, “Tosses Bottle Like He Tosses Blame.”
A random X user remarked, “The rockets simply can’t do anything with Kevin Durant on the bench. KD keeps winning his mins by a good margin every time man. How are you relying on a 37 year old this much to hold your hands dude?”
This observation stings because it’s 100% accurate. The franchise struggles without Durant on the floor. They fail to execute in crunch time, can’t defend consistently, and the gap between his impact and the rest of the team is huge. And irony? He committed to torching the franchise but ended up surprising KD.
