Atlanta Hawks star point guard Trae Young has his own pick on who he thinks would follow in the footsteps of Iowa Hawkeyes legend Caitlin Clark and would become the next college star that would have the same impact as that of Clark.

In an interview with On3 High School, Trae Young revealed his bet on who the next college star would be, who would be on the same level as that of Caitlin Clark.

“Aaliyah is the next Paige Bueckers, the next, I mean, Juju Watkins, the next Caitlin Clark of college basketball,” Young said. “It’s going to be exciting she’s in Norman, Oklahoma now.”

Aaliyah Chavez is often compared to Caitlin Clark due to her exceptional scoring ability, court vision, and leadership on the basketball court. Like Clark, Chavez has demonstrated the ability to dominate games with her offensive prowess, averaging an impressive 34.9 points, 9.1 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game during her senior year of high school.

Hawks Teammate Calls Trae Young “A Role Model”

2024 NBA Draft first overall pick Zaccharie Risacher praised teammate point guard Trae Young for being a role model to him and the younger team members.

In a post-game press conference following their match against the Philadelphia 76ers, the Hawks rookie gave credit to veteran Trae Young, who Risacher has described as his role model.

“I feel like I have been working the whole year, and mostly my whole life to keep the consistency every day. And I trust the work I put in,” said the 19-year-old French forward. “I’m glad to have the opportunity to showcase what I can do. I’m just glad to help my team win games and that’s the most important for me.”

“I think Tray has been a great role model for me since day one. The first day I got here, he texted me. I always knew he was here for me, for advice, about anything on the court, obviously, and off the court.”

So far this season, Zaccharie Risacher has been averaging 12.1 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game. His shooting splits include 44.8% from the field and 35.3% from three-point range.
