San Antonio Spurs star Victor Wembanyama is a nightmare to guard on the floor. His length, skill, athleticism and talent make him one of the toughest matchups in the NBA. However, a former NBA All-Star believes Wembanyama can learn more when it comes to scoring the basketball.
Gilbert Arenas, a three-time All-Star, had a bold take about Wembanyama’s offensive approach. On Sunday’s episode of “The Gilbert Arenas Show,” the former Washington Wizards star said that the Spurs star should learn how to score without dribbling the basketball.
Arenas believes that it will give the Spurs a better chance at making it to the Western Conference finals.

“Wemby is learning in real time, adjusting in real time,” Arenas said. “And if he is starting to play the game without putting the ball on the floor, the chances of them getting to the WCF is gonna be heightened.
“Defensively, 7 game series, him dominating, controlling the game, that gives them a chance. If he starts getting buckets without wasting energy, good luck.”
Victor Wembanyama is a dunk target for Anthony Edwards
On Saturday, Victor Wembanyama led the Spurs to a 126-123 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves and had a 39-point outing. Wembanyama added nine rebounds and two blocks. The star player went toe-to-toe with Anthony Edwards, who finished with 55 points.
After the game, Edwards told reporters that he dreams of one day putting the 7-foot-4 center on a poster dunk. This was brought up to Wembanyama, who embraced the challenge that the Wolves star brings.
“Well, I know for sure he’s dunking on everybody,” he said. “I’m not an exception. I’ll be up for the challenge, of course. If he’s got good momentum and if I’m just a little bit late, he might not be very forgiving, but it’s fine. I’ll try. Over the years, I’ll try to block him more than he dunks on me.”
Fans are looking forward to seeing Victor Wembanyama challenge Anthony Edwards.
