Victor Wembanyama Gets Honest About De’Aaron Fox’s Missed Shot in Heartbreaking Loss to Warriors – ‘We Had 2 Options That Play’

San Antonio Spurs star Victor Wembanyama showed to the world that he won’t be bullied by the veterans, even if it is one of the most menacing personalities in the league. Sadly for him, Golden State Warriors and newly-returned Stephen Curry was too much for them.

The Spurs failed to get back at the Warriors who beat them on November 12. Curry was huge in both games, scoring a total of 95 games in total. Wembanyama himself was not bad as he scored 31 and 26 while pulling down a total of 27 rebounds and 14 assists.

Both games went down the wire and Spurs had their best chance in the last one as the game was undecided until the final buzzer. The only problem was that De’Aaron Fox, a one-time Clutch Player of the Year, failed to convert from the isolation.

This led to him getting attacked by San Antonio fans.

    Victor Wembanyama details final shot

It was an emotional game for Wembanyama but things did not go their way in the last shot. The one-time All-Star said there were two plays his coach designed.

“For the intricacies of it, we need to see the clip again, but we had two options that play,” Wembanyama said when asked if he thought the ball was going in.

“We went for one of them. De’Aaron and myself were on the opposite sides of the court.”

Unlike some fans though, he defended his teammate for the decision.

“We trust De’Aaron with those kind of shots. History has proven he’s more than capable of making things happen this way in a game. I know the team trusts me as well to take a final shot.”

Next up for the Spurs are the struggling Sacramento Kings.
