San Antonio Spurs and New York Knicks figured in an exciting and historic NBA Cup Finals two weeks ago with the latter coming out on top to lift the trophy. They are set for a rematch and Victor Wembanyama feels excited about it.

The French star has the encounter marked on his calendar as he remembers the time they were denied of the NBA Cup win and the cash prize.
“Of course we’re looking forward to it. We owe them one. We owe ourselves one more than anything,” he said according to Spurs reporter Matt Guzman.

That loss drove the Spurs to greater heights as they went on to win five straight games, two of them against defending champions Oklahoma City Thunder whom they beat in the NBA Cup semis to get the chance to dance with the Knicks.
The rematch will be both teams’ last assignment for 2025.
Wembanyama started off the bench against the Knicks but coach Sam Mitchell has been ramping up his minutes and inserted him back into the starting five in the last two games.
Victor Wembanyama preaches focus after recent losses
Wemby is looking forward to the Knicks rematch but then they might have gotten a little to excited for it.
The Spurs fall to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday after a fourth quarter collapse and getting surprised by a scoring tear by Jarret Allen. It is a follow up to their painful loss to Utah Jazz the other day that ended their five-game win streak.
Wemby said he expected that things will be hard for them but he is preaching more focus and smooth adjustments to the changes that arrive, including him getting the starting role again from Luke Kornet.
