Till now, the community has just seen their players get fined for breaking rules or sued for doing some serious violence off the court. But Golden State Warriors guard Moses Moody is catching heat for a very unusual situation, and the amount he has to pay is more unusual.
His former landlord reportedly filed a lawsuit this week in small claims court over alleged property damage, which is extensively related to water, and the report claims the 23-year-old has to pay around $28,000.

Property owner Amir Tabarrok submitted a document to the court stating that the damage resulted from improper laundry use during Moody’s four-year stay. Per reports, he rented the seventh-floor unit from August 2021 to October 2025 at $6,495 per month.
He claims Moody failed to run proper ventilation while doing laundry, resulting in steam and moisture that wreaked havoc on the Mission Bay condo. He added that hardwood floors were hit the worst, and the ceilings, walls, and carpets were also harmed due to extensive water.
Landlord claimed they had to replace sheetrock, cover water mitigation costs, and repair damaged electrical switches and window frames caused by drilled holes.
Warriors gave him a three-year, $37.5 million extension in October 2024 after his strong two-way play. Some credits deserve his rookie year as well, when he won the NBA championship with Warriors. He is making sure the dubs get their return for the paycheck, posting career highs across the board this season.
