Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green is no stranger to controversial fouls. During Friday’s meeting with the Memphis Grizzlies at Chase Center in San Francisco, Green was slapped with a flagrant 1 foul after hooking rookie big man Zach Edey’s leg in the third quarter. It was initially called a regular personal foul before the penalty got upgraded to a flagrant 1.
After the game, Grizzlies head coach Taylor Jenkins shared his thoughts on Green’s foul on Edey.
Taylor Jenkins brings up the “code” in regard to Draymond Green’s transition take foul on Zach Edey: “Draymond grabs his leg, pulls him down and it doesn’t get reviewed. So I know there’s a code in this league and I don’t understand how that wasn’t reviewed. Very disappointing”

Warriors’ Draymond Green fires back at Grizzlies head coach

Green later caught a whiff of Jenkins’ comment when he read about it on a post by the NBA on ESPN’s Instagram account (h/t Legion Hoops). The former Michigan State Spartans star left the following comment on that post: “Shut up!” in an apparent shot at Jenkins.

Nevertheless, Green and the Warriors had the last laugh in the Grizzlies game, as they came away with a 123-118 victory to extend their undefeated streak to three games. The 34-year-old Green had 13 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists in that contest while shooting 5-for-11 from the field and going 3-for-7 from deep.
For what it’s worth, the Warriors and the Grizzlies will meet three more times in the 2024-25 NBA regular season, with the next one taking place at FedExForum in Memphis on Dec. 20.
