The Golden State Warriors are set to face the Houston Rockets on Wednesday. The team is coming off a 134-117 win over the Utah Jazz without Draymond Green. Against the Jazz, the Warriors had slim frontcourt depth. Green was out due to a foot injury. In addition, Golden State had to deal with the absence of Jonathan Kuminga due to knee pain and Al Horford due to sciatica.
The Warriors look to take advantage of the Rockets, who are set to play without their best player, Kevin Durant. The two-time champion was listed as out due to a family matter. Durant also missed Houston’s game against the Phoenix Suns on Monday.
Fortunately for the Warriors, they received a positive update regarding Green. According to ESPN’s Anthony Slater, the four-time All-Star has been upgraded to probable. Slater posted the update on Tuesday via X.

However, Horford and Kuminga remain out.
“Draymond Green has been upgraded to probable tomorrow night against the Rockets (and the Alperen Sengun/Steven Adams frontline). Al Horford and Jonathan Kuminga remain out,” Slater posted.

Draymond Green has appeared in 16 games this season, averaging 8.1 points, 5.8 rebounds and 5.8 assists. Although he doesn’t put up a lot of points on the board, the star forward is the Warriors’ leader on both ends. The defense he brings is important and makes a massive difference. Also, his basketball IQ on offense is unmatched.
Jeff Teague calls Draymond Green the “ultimate team player”

There have been all sorts of criticisms thrown at Draymond Green for not having All-Star numbers. Despite this, he remains one of the best players for the Warriors. Recently, Green started a beef with former NBA star Kenyon Martin. Golden State’s forward called out Martin for his lack of championships, while the retired star listed several power forwards who he believes are better than the two-time All-NBA.
Amid all this, former NBA star Jeff Teague weighed in on the subject. According to Teague, Green’s contributions cannot be measured by his individual numbers. However, he has shaped himself as one of the best teammates in the association.
“I don’t see Draymond Green as an individual player; I look at him as the ultimate team player,” Teague said. “I ain’t looking for his stats to be crazy, but as far as winning, you know what he brings to the table. So, all those dudes, their stats might be better, but they might not bring nothing that he brings to the table. They probably not the best leader. They probably not work as hard, probably not sacrificing like he do.”
Teague understands the impact that Green has for the Warriors.
