The Warriors escaped with belief intact but bodies bruised after a 103 to 102 loss against the L.A. Clippers on January 6, 2026. The narrow loss raised immediate concerns among fans, not due to the scoreline, but because of the physical toll taken by Draymond Green.
Green has been under constant scrutiny this season due to ejections, trade chatter, and Golden State’s uneven form. This time, though, the concern was purely physical. His postgame remark shifted the center’s focus from performance to durability, leaving fans uneasy about how much more punishment the 33-year-old can absorb while remaining central to the Warriors’ system.
Draymond Green Got Injured After the Bench Collision

Video from the Clippers game showed the moment things went wrong. Midway through the contest, Green chased down a loose ball and crashed hard into the Warriors’ bench. He immediately showed discomfort and headed to the locker room, prompting the team to list him as questionable with a rib injury. Despite the scare, he returned minutes later and finished the game, logging over 30 minutes on the floor.
After the game, the star addressed the issue while talking to the reporters.
“I’m beat the f*** up … sorry … I’m beat the hell up,” Green said.

He then broke down the sequence that left him visibly shaken.
“[The] crash into the bench,” Green continued. “I knocked a rib out, then right after that, I rolled my ankle, I fell on my wrist, I hurt my left wrist. It’s just the accumulation of this game.”
The comments clarified confusion created during the game, when early reports suggested a rib contusion. NBA insider Brett Siegel later confirmed the rib issue was overstated and that the primary concern was Green’s left ankle, which allowed him to continue playing.
Though he didn’t score much, Green still showed up with six points, 12 assists, five rebounds, and two steals. Defense carried him that night, along with smart passes, steady guidance – scoring took a backseat, like it often does these days.
Fans reacted strongly online, and many gave mixed reactions.
A fan said, “You did good today old man.
But I still think your contract is better off shipped with Kuminga for a real star.”
Another said, “Rest him were better off without him.”
A folk said, “sit next game dray!”
Another said, “None of it had anything to do with missing 3 straight open 3s.”
“Stay healthy, we need you in the trade,” says another fan.
Now, the Warriors are up to face the Bucks next. Green’s presence remains a big question.
