There are many questions about the future of the Golden State Warriors after the season-ending torn ACL injury that Jimmy Butler suffered. The stars are in their twilight years, as Stephen Curry and Draymond Green aren’t getting any younger. Lastly, coach Steve Kerr is in the final year of his contract, which makes his time with the Warriors uncertain.
Kerr is in the final year of a two-year, $35 million contract with Golden State. There is no assurance that he’ll be back since the Warriors have not negotiated a new deal with him. According to ESPN’s Anthony Slater, the coach and the management haven’t had discussions about a new contract.
Kerr said before the start of the 2025-26 season that they’ll have to wait until the end of the campaign to gauge their next steps.

After the news that the current campaign could be the last for Steve Kerr and the Warriors, fans expressed their thoughts.
“NOOOOOOOOO CURRY DONT DESERVE THIS💔💔💔💔💔” a fan said.
“End of an era if this is true,” another fan commented.
“It’s time for a change tbh,” one fan said. “Sad as it is”

“All things must come to an end 😢” someone commented.
“It’ll be the end of an era for sure, but it’s time. Enjoy the accolades but let’s get on with it,” a comment read.
“don’t think it’ll actually happen but if it does, we throwing everything on the grill and more,” one fan commented.
Steve Kerr reacted to Jonathan Kuminga’s first game back
Jonathan Kuminga had not played since Dec. 18. The young forward was out of Steve Kerr’s rotation until they needed his contributions. Butler’s injury has led Kerr to call on Kuminga to fill a spot.
Against the Toronto Raptors, Kuminga had 20 points and five rebounds on 70.0% shooting. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough as the Warriors had a 145-127 loss.
“He came in and had great energy, attacked the rim, made some shots. I thought JK was really good, and it’s a great sign with Jimmy (Butler) out, obviously,” Kerr said. “There’s a hole at that spot on our roster, so JK is going to factor in here again. (I’m) really pleased with the way he stayed ready and stayed prepared, got his opportunity and played really well. “
Fans expect to see more games with Kuminga in action.
