In a recent game against the Washington Wizards, Draymond Green once again expressed his remorse to Jordan Poole for their infamous altercation two years prior. The Golden State Warriors forward acknowledged the lingering impact of that incident, emphasizing his sincere apology in a post he shared online.

The Warriors secured a hard-fought 122-114 victory against the Wizards, showcasing resilience after a sluggish start. Despite being down by as much as ten points in the first half, the Dubs rallied in the second half, led by Andrew Wiggins’ game-high 31 points and All-Star guard Stephen Curry’s 26 points before he left the game due to an ankle injury.

Poole, now with the Wizards, made headlines with his impressive 38-point performance, including eight 3-pointers. Postgame, he expressed his affection for most of his former teammates, a comment that caught the attention of Draymond Green, who felt the slight. Green, who had previously punched Poole during a preseason practice, took the opportunity to reiterate his apology, acknowledging the unresolved tension between them.

The incident from two years ago continues to cast a shadow over both players’ careers. Green’s actions were seen as a pivotal moment that impacted Golden State’s performance, leading to playoff struggles in the subsequent seasons. Despite his apology, Green’s admission of regret suggests a lingering weight from that incident.

The recent Dubs-Wizards matchup led Green to apologize once again to Poole for punching him a few years ago. The apology can be seen in a post Green shared on his official X account.

As the game progressed, Golden State found their rhythm, outscoring the Wizards in the final minutes. A strong third quarter helped them regain control, displaying their capacity to overcome adversity, even in Green’s absence due to a calf injury. Meanwhile, Wiggins stepped up as a reliable scoring option, demonstrating his crucial role within the team.

The matchup not only highlighted the Dubs’ determination but also underscored the complex dynamics between former teammates Poole and Green. As they navigate their respective paths, the echoes of past conflicts may continue to influence their performances and relationships on the court.
