Stephen Curry’s minutes for the Golden State Warriors in the pre-season was gradually raised by head coach Steve Kerr. He played just 16 minutes in the first one and then missed the next assignment against the Los Angeles Lakers. He then played 27 minutes versus the Portland Trailblazers and then played 30 minutes in loss against the Los Angeles Clippers.

The two-time MVP entered the 2025 offseason injured, was not even able to finish the second round of the playoffs which they lost to the Minnesota Timberwolves. His health was among the biggest concerns the team had during summer aside from the summer signings but he feels better now.
Curry said he is focused on the new season and the whole Warriors unit are ready.
“It’s more mental than anything, just to kind of get ready for Tuesday… [I feel] as good as I can. Take advantage of the offseason; we had a really good camp overall.”

Warriors’ first game will be against the Lakers with whom they split the two games they met in the pre-season.
Stephen Curry wants Warriors to seal a good start
The first game of a long season does not mean that much on any team’s standing. It’s a long battle anyway. However, for Curry, he believes that the first game could set the tone for them.
He wants the Warriors to start the season right out of the gate and play with a mission against the Lakers. He added that they should not feel that confident just because Lebron James is out of the line-up.
“Understanding that, again, we’re a team that is building on a foundation we had last year, so we want to win the first game,” he told reporters on Friday.

“That’s kind of how you take it, and it’s exciting knowing we’re starting on the road against a team that, ‘Bron’s (LeBron James) not playing but, is lethal, with Luka (Dončić). Good test to start out and hopefully we can hit the ground running.”
Warriors are currently the slight favorites for the Tuesday game, getting +1.5 in betting odds. They will feature a slightly new line up with Al Horford taking over as their new starting center.
