Gilbert Arenas is not the only fan of the Anthony Davis trade to the Washington Wizards, as Alex Sarr also gave his seal of approval. According to the former second overall pick, he’s excited to learn more and play alongside one of the league’s premier big men.
Once Davis returns from his hand and groin injuries, the new Washington Wizards forward is expected link up with Sarr in the frontcourt, forming a dynamic duo on both ends of the floor with their elite rim protection and finishing skills.
“He has a very complete game. I can also step out and play inside-out, so I think it’ll be pretty seamless (playing alongside him),” Sarr told Bijan Todd from the Monumental Sports Network. “Just getting the reps in, that’s definitely going to help us.”
“The way the game’s played, you don’t take turns like, ‘Oh, it’s going to be a me-and-Trae pick-and-roll, then AD,'” he added. “I feel like just letting the game come to you (will be huge) and it should be a good fit.”

Washington Wizards GM chimes in on having an Alex Sarr-Anthony Davis frontcourt duo
Washington Wizards general manager Will Dawkins doubled down on Alex Sarr’s take on the acquisition of Anthony Davis, saying that he can’t wait to see them all share the court alongside star guard Trae Young, whom they also acquired via trade.
“He obviously opens up so much on offense because he demands double-teams; he can score in different areas. Defensively, he’s been an anchor, a rebounder, a rim-protector,” Dawkins said of Davis. “When you have him at the 4 and Alex at the 5 protecting the paint… I think adding someone like him opens up the game of a lot of our other players, but also allows him to be Anthony Davis, too.”
“Trae has probably never played with a player to the level of Anthony Davis while also leading the league in assists and assist percentage for how many years now?” he continued. “I think the floor is going to be spread. We’re going to have a lot of people who can make decisions, and that’s how we want to play basketball.”
